A Challenge from our CEO
It has been four years since I first heard that TV, as we knew it, would completely change due to the advent of broadband. Instead, in realty what has happened is that we have all simply been given a few more choices. It’s true that content and distribution models have evolved, but this so called "revolution" has happened almost exclusively on PCs, not on TVs.
Instead, we have witnessed some really incredible phenomena happening on the Internet since 1996, even if it actually became available commercially in 1988. So, what made the difference? The Web.
The Web provided the tools and the stage to people like Jeff Bezos, Meg Whitman, and to express their genius and realize their ideas. Tools such as HTML, Javascript, and Ajax... simple-to-use, widely available, and always improving. The most recent phenomena, such as YouTube, MySpace, and Facebook; ideas that have taken the world by storm would not have been possible if these tools had not been available.
TVBLOB is bringing this possibility to TV.
We are making available to you our SDK, called BLOBkit, at no cost, so that you can build new Web-based services for the TV using the same tools that you already use for the PC.
Our mission is to empower the next genius to do for TV what many have already done for the PC.
Fulfill the promise of broadband TV. Put your own ideas directly on TV. Be part of the TV revolution.
Good luck!
